Can I install other operating systems on the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

The Mini PC comes with the Home Assistant Operating System pre-installed, but it is capable of supporting other operating systems depending on your needs.

What operating systems come pre-installed on the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

Depending on your order, the Mini PC comes with the Home Assistant Operating System, FreePBX or pfSense pre-installed, but it is capable of supporting other operating systems depending on your needs. We also have customization possibilities for larger orders to deliver a fully prestaged solution to your requirements.

Technical Specifications

What are the technical specifications of the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

Our base model focuses on including an Intel N-100 processor, with at least 8GB DDR4 RAM, and at least 256GB SSD M2 2280 storage, Intel UHD graphics, Gigabit Ethernet - or faster, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and a variety of ports like USB 2.0, 3.0, HDMI, and USB-C for connectivity. Our USB-C can be used for both data or to power your third display.

What type of processor does the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC use?

The device is powered by the Intel N-100 processor, providing up to 3.4GHz with 4 cores, ensuring smooth performance for a range of tasks. Leveraging Intel’s Speed-Step technology, the processor incrementally accelerates clocking as demand increases, leading to better energy efficiency without sacrificing performance.

What is the RAM and storage capacity of the device?

The Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC comes with at least 8GB of DDR4 RAM (but can be ordered with a 16GB size) and 256GB of M.2 SSD storage, ensuring fast boot times and sufficient space for your applications and files. Our device does support up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB storage.

Does the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC support 4K graphics?

Yes, it supports 4K@60Hz output through its HDMI (or Display Port where applicable) and USB-C DisplayPort, providing stunning visuals across up to three monitors.

What are the connectivity options (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet) available?

The Mini PC offers dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity, and Gigabit Ethernet for fast and reliable wired connections.

What are the available ports on the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

It includes 2x USB 2.0 ports, 2x USB 3.0 ports, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB-C DisplayPort for multiple connectivity options, including peripherals and monitors. Please refer to the product’s specifications for exact details pertaining to available ports.

How energy-efficient is the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

The Mini PC consumes less than 1kWh per day, making it highly energy-efficient while delivering reliable performance. As a reference: if your electricity rate is at 15c per kWh, it will cost you up to 15c per day to operate.

Setup and Installation

How do I set up my Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC for the first time?

Setting up the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC is easy. Connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse, plug in the power, and press the power button. The pre-installed software will guide you through any additional setup steps.

The default Linux username (apart from ‘root’) is: user.

The default password for both ‘user’ and ‘root’ accounts is: Freedom123!

Please change the default password upon first login!

What accessories are included with the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

The package includes a 12V DC power adapter, a 3ft Ethernet cable, and a VESA mounting kit for easy installation behind your monitor or desk.

How do I mount the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC to the back of my monitor?

Use the included VESA mounting kit to attach the Mini PC to the back of your monitor. Detailed instructions are included in the user manual specific to your Mini PC model.

What do I need to connect for the initial setup (keyboard, mouse, monitor)?

You'll need to connect a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. You can use USB peripherals and connect your display through HDMI or USB-C ports.

Does the device support multiple monitors?

Yes, the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC supports up to three monitors via its dual HDMI ports (or display ports - please refer to your manual) and USB-C DisplayPort.

Performance and Usage

What is the default username and password for my Mini PC?

The default password for your Pulcro.io TurnKey Mini PC for the user 'root' is: Freedom123!

In some cases, an additional user account may be present on your Mini PC:

  • Username: pulcro
  • Password: Freedom123!

For security reasons, we strongly recommend changing the default credentials immediately after setup. If you need assistance, please refer to the setup guide included with your device or contact our support team.

 

How can I set my device to turn on automatically after a power outage?

As each Pulcro.io Mini PC model is slightly different, please review the steps relevant to your model:

To configure your TurnKey QBE Mini PC to automatically power back on to the previous state after a power interruption, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your Pulcro.io Mini PC and press F7 when the logo appears.
  2. Select "Enter Setup" to access the BIOS.
  3. Navigate to the "Boot" tab.
  4. Locate "State after G3", press the spacebar, and set it to "S0 State".
  5. Navigate to "Save & Exit", then select "Save Changes and Exit" to apply the settings.

To configure your TurnKey Two Mini PC to automatically power back on after a power interruption, please download our Visual Instruction Guide (PDF) for the steps.

After completing those steps, your Mini PC will now automatically restore to the last power state after a power loss.

Can the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC handle heavy workloads?

While the Mini PC is optimized for home automation, office work, and multimedia tasks, it may not be suitable for very resource-intensive applications like high-end gaming or large-scale video editing.

Is the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC quiet during operation?

Yes, the device is equipped with a whisper-quiet fan that operates at less than 30dB, ensuring silent performance even under load. You won’t even hear it is turned on!

Can it be used as a central hub for smart home automation?

Absolutely! The pre-installed Home Assistant OS makes it an ideal choice for acting as the brain behind your smart home, controlling everything from lights to thermostats.

Is the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC good for media streaming?

Yes, the Mini PC is perfect for streaming high-definition content, supporting up to 4K resolution across multiple displays.

How does the Mini PC perform in office settings for tasks like browsing, email, and document editing?

The Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC is more than capable of handling standard office tasks like browsing, email, word processing, and spreadsheet management with ease. Most industry-specific software, such as appointment managers (calendars), warehouse management software, etc. should be handled with ease.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage on the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

The RAM in TurnKey Two (and storage) are upgradeable up to 16GB RAM (or 1TB storage), but we recommend contacting support for guidance on compatible components and upgrade instructions.

For TurnKey QBE, only the storage is upgradeable up to 1TB SSD. The memory module is physically integrated with the rest of the components.

 How do I reset my device to factory default settings?

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, there are two independent resets possible:

  1. To reset your system’s BIOS to factory settings, as a result of no boot screen, ensure the device is powered off. Using a fine tip pen to press and hold the reset button on the device for at least 5 seconds, then turn the device back on. You may need to adjust your BIOS settings with things like date and time, and any other customization tailored to your needs.
  2. To initiate a system recovery, i.e. to reset the preinstalled software to a factory clean installation, or to update your software online, please visit our Recovery (link: recovery) page for instructions.

What is the warranty coverage for the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

The Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC comes with a 24-month US-based limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Please refer to our Warranty Guide for more information.

How do I contact customer support for issues with my Mini PC?

You can reach our Support Team via email at hello@pulcro.io. Please have your product’s serial number handy (located on the bottom of the device) to faster assist you. We're happy to help with any issues or questions.

What is your return policy?

We offer a thirty day return window starting on the day your item has shipped. To initiate a return, please contact us at hello@pulcro.io to obtain a CRA Number and further instructions. All returns are subject to our Returns Policy and a restocking fee may apply for non-defective related return.

What should I do if my Mini PC is defective or damaged?

Contact our Support Team immediately at hello@pulcro.io with the product’s serial number (conveniently located at the bottom of the device). If the defect is covered under warranty, we will arrange for a repair or replacement.

What does the warranty not cover?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modifications, or accidents. It also doesn’t cover normal wear and tear.

Is my product covered under warranty if it was purchased from a third party?

Yes, as long as it is an authorized reseller, your product is covered under the standard warranty.

How long is the warranty period for the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

The warranty period is 24 months from the date of shipping.

System Recovery and Troubleshooting

How do I perform a system recovery on the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

As each model is different, we recommend visiting our Recovery (link: recovery) page for specific details pertaining to your model.

What is the difference between online and offline system recovery?

Offline Recovery: this process attempts to bring your Mini PC back using preinstalled recovery images located on a special section of your hard drive known as the recovery partition. After running an offline recovery, you will lose any data stored on your Mini PC and your Mini PC will be restored back to the way it was when you initially received it.

Online Recovery: during this recovery process, you will lose any data stored on your Mini PC. At the same time, your Mini PC will contact our servers to download the most up-to-date images relative to the operating system your device was initially shipped with, and the tool will reimage your Mini PC accordingly. As data will be streamed across the Internet, there may be data charges charged by your Internet provider. The Online Recovery tool can also assist in repurposing your device to a different compatible operating system via the Pulcro Management System (coming soon!).

What should I do if my recovery partition is corrupted?

Please reach out to our Support Team at hello@pulcro.io with your product’s serial number. Most likely, you will be asked to ship your device back to our facilities for reimaging for a fee. Please ensure you have backed up all your data before shipping back your device as you will lose any data stored on your Mini PC.

How can I restore the device to its factory settings?

Is the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC available internationally?

Currently, our product is limited to all 50 states in the United States, Canada and Mexico. We look to expand our network internationally as our product gains popularity.

What payment options are available for purchasing?

We prefer to accept all major credit cards and PayPal. We do accept offline (analogue) payments in the form of checks and money orders, however, these instruments must be cleared (funded) prior to dispatch.

Do you offer discounts for bulk orders or businesses?

How long does shipping take after I place an order?

Orders placed before 2PM (US Central Time) on a business day will be prioritized for same day shipment. Orders placed after 2PM (US Central Time) or on a non-business day will be shipped the following business day. We work Monday to Fridays, excluding any federal and state holidays.

What are the shipping costs for the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

We offer free ground shipping with all our orders regardless of quantity ordered.

Do you offer expedited shipping options?

Certainly! We leverage a network of national carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) to offer you two-day or next-day delivery subject to their terms of carriage. To obtain an accurate quote for expedited shipping, please populate your Shopping Cart with the desired quantities, then navigate to Checkout and enter your delivery address.

Customization

Can I customize the configuration of my Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC?

We have a limited scope of customization services that we can perform, including custom labeling, custom overpacking and system configuration. To receive a quote, please contact our Sales Team at hello@pulcro.io outlining the requested customizations and quantities, as well as any other supporting documentation (such as a draft Statement of Work) that will help define the project’s scope.

How do I select the operating system for my Mini PC during purchase?

Once you have selected your desired Mini PC model, you will have a list of operating systems to choose from. Ensure you select the correct operating system and quantity before adding the Mini PC to your cart. If you wish to order the same model of Mini PC but with a different operating system, please add separate line entries for each flavor of system to your Cart.

Are there BIOS configuration options available for advanced users?

Yes! To enter the BIOS, press either F7 or F11 (depending on your Mini PC model) and select “Enter Setup”. Please note: severe and non-reversible damage may occur if you configure your BIOS incorrectly. Any damage arising from an incorrectly configured BIOS, including any attempts to overclock your device is not covered under warranty.

Can I request custom software pre-installation?

Certainly! We can handle almost all Linux distributions and can accommodate most Windows configurations, including providing OEM licenses, slipstreaming additional components into your deployment. Can the Pulcro TurnKey Mini PC be configured for specific industries or tasks?

Yes! We have the ability to preload most Linux distributions and can fulfill orders requiring Windows (including providing volume OEM licenses).
