At Pulcro.io, we deeply appreciate the contributions of open-source and proprietary software developers whose work enables us to deliver high-quality, turnkey solutions. Our products may include software from third-party providers such as Home Assistant, Windows, FreePBX, and Proxmox, among others. Each of these platforms is licensed under its respective terms, and we fully acknowledge the dedication of the developers and communities behind them. As a convenience to you, we preload this software on our devices.
To review the licenses and terms of use for all third-party software included in our installations, please visit their respective external license pages. To enhance transparency and ensure compliance, we have provided direct links to these agreements. Pulcro.io is not responsible for the content published on third-party websites and does not modify or alter the terms set forth by these software providers.
By using our products, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the respective software licenses. Pulcro.io does not claim ownership over third-party software and provides it as-is, with no modifications unless explicitly stated. If you have any questions regarding licensing or compliance, please reach out to us.
Operating System:
In today’s digital landscape, we recognize the importance of security, transparency, and product integrity. Our goal is to deliver a stable, high-quality out-of-box experience while making only the changes necessary to prepare each system for use.
All operating systems we provide are based on official installation images published by their respective authors or projects. While the version installed may not always be the latest release available on the day your system ships, each image is validated in our lab for hardware compatibility, stability, and performance before deployment. We also monitor software updates and public feedback as part of our ongoing product validation process.
Where configuration is required, we keep our changes intentionally minimal. For transparency, the following summarizes how each operating system is prepared:
- Home Assistant OS: No modifications are made to the official Home Assistant OS image.
- Zorin OS Core: Installed using the standard Zorin OS installer and its default installation options. After installation, we install Firefox and Thunderbird from the official Zorin software repositories and create desktop shortcuts for convenient access. We do not otherwise modify the Zorin OS desktop environment or core operating system.
- Windows® 11 Professional: Essential hardware drivers are installed as required, including graphics, chipset, audio, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth drivers. We also include a provisioning script used to activate the supplied Windows license and expand the filesystem to utilize the available space on the installed drive.
- FreePBX: Built from a Debian base installation with Asterisk, FreePBX, and the required supporting libraries and dependencies.
- Proxmox VE:
- Includes a custom first-login welcome banner displaying initial access information. The banner is cleared after the first login.
- Primary network interface configured for DHCP.
- Secondary network interface configured with a default static address of 192.168.68.1/24.
- Thin LVM provisioning enabled.
- Includes Home Assistant as a sample KVM virtual machine.
Compatible Pulcro TurnKey Mini PCs also include a dedicated recovery environment containing our Pulcro Recovery Tools. These tools can provide functions such as factory reimaging, system redeployment, hardware diagnostics, report generation, and remote support or diagnostic access, depending on the product and recovery environment installed.
The recovery environment does not operate during normal use of the computer. It is separate from the installed operating system and only runs when you intentionally boot into or launch the recovery environment. Remote diagnostic or support functionality is likewise only available when the recovery environment has been started by the user.
Our approach is simple: start with official software, make only the changes needed to provide a reliable out-of-box experience, and remain transparent about what we configure.
If you have any questions or concerns about our software preparation or recovery process, we welcome you to contact us directly.
